Local Brady Bunch Blogger Reacts To Florence Henderson's Death

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- America is mourning the loss of one of its favorite sitcom moms. Florence Henderson, who played Carol Brady on TV's "The Brady Bunch," died yesterday at the age of 82. Laura Nachman of Havertown is a  local blogger and was very interested in Henderson's life and career.

Nachman was taken aback when her real mom told her her favorite TV mom, Florence Henderson, had died of heart failure.

"Florence was always in such good shape," she said. "She was just on Dancing With The Stars a few weeks ago. It's kind of hard to believe."

Nachman, who ran a Brady tribute blog said Florence Henderson stayed in the limelight even after The Brady Bunch ended in 1974.

"She did a cooking show. She did a version of the Today Show. She was always active, always around. She always sang the national anthem for the Indianapolis 500 every year."

Nachman said thanks to perpetual reruns, memories of Florence Henderson are never far away.
