Local Blogger Keeps Philadelphians In Style For Spring (And Beyond)

By Chelsea Karnash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – From product tests to YouTube videos to timely tips on dressing for the weather, fashion blogger Brittiny Adams covers all things style in the City of Brotherly Love.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia with a degree in fashion marketing in 2010, she started her blog, Fashion of Philly.

"While in school, I noticed that there were many fashion events happening in the city, so I started a blog to share those events," she says. "At first, it was just a creative outlet for me to express my thoughts on fashion, beauty and event coverage, but now, it's grown into so much more."

'So much more' is accurate – five years later, Adams has about 8,500 followers, and her blog has taken her places she initially didn't think possible.

"I've been able to experience many wonderful opportunities, like attending the shows at New York Fashion Week, working with big names like Dior, reviewing the latest automobiles for companies like Buick, and even soaring to new heights with trapeze lessons!" Brittiny says.

This year, she's hoping to include more travel posts and grow her YouTube channel with more makeup tutorials and style lookbooks. Already in 2015, Brittiny contributed to a CBSPhilly piece on spring trends where she shares her advice on staying stylish as the weather warms up.

Some of her tips? Look to jewelry to add sparkle, a full skirt is on-trend for almost any occasion and – most importantly – have fun!

"Spring is about renewal, not about being serious and stuffy. You can mix up patterns and play with color even more in the spring," Adams advises. "The art of fashion is what you find interesting and beautiful."

You can follow Fashion of Philly on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and YouTube, or visit the blog here.
