Listen: Metallica Releases Demo Of New Song 'The Lords Of Summer'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Just days after debuting a new song during a concert on Bogota, Columbia, Metallica has released what they're calling a "garage demo" of a song titled 'The Lords Of Summer," on their YouTube channel.

Drummer Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone that the new song is "is fairly representative of where our creative headspace is at right now. It's one of those things that's like, 'Here, we're writing and we're creating.'"

The online demo release is a signal of changing times, as it was Ulrich who fought to shut down file-sharing service Napster after early versions of the band's song "I Disappear" circulated online.

Metallica has not released new music since 2008's Death Magnetic.
