CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- The Camden County Prosecutor's office says a 25-year-old man has been arrested after a loaded handgun was found in a toddler's bag Tuesday morning.

Authorities say a worker at the El Centro Day Care Center on Martin Luther King Boulevard spotted the weapon in the child's nursery bag, and called police shortly after 8 a.m. Once there, an officer recovered a 9mm handgun loaded with hollow point bullets.

The weapon had been reported stolen out of Philadelphia.

Detectives say an investigation led them to the little girl's father, 25-year-old Rakeem Williams of Lindenwold. Williams was taken into custody and charged with a number of weapons-related offenses.

He was sent to county jail on $50,000-bail.
