LeSean McCoy Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Month

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has had the best season of his career. Leading the league in rushing, the Chip Kelly run-heavy offense has benefited McCoy perhaps the most of any player on the team.

McCoy ended the season with a bang.

McCoy was named NFC Offensive Player of The Month for December. He ran for 598 yards on 101 carries, and scored five touchdowns in a month that saw the Eagles go 4-1, and clinch the NFC East.

McCoy's best game of the month, the year, and perhaps his career came Sunday, December 8th against the Lions, in the snow, at Lincoln Financial Field. He rushed for 217 yards on 29 carries, and scored two touchdowns.

The month also saw McCoy have his worst game of the season, rushing the ball only eight times in a loss at Minnesota.

Nick Foles won the award in November.
