Lee, Phillies Welcome Washington To CBP

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies will finally get back to work tonight at Citizens Bank Park as they welcome the Washington Nationals to town for the opener of a three game series.
The Phillies have had an odd week. They were off Monday, lost 6-1 on Tuesday to the Mets, got rained out on Wednesday and then had another scheduled off day on Thursday.
Philadelphia is 13-13 this season, they are tied for fourth in the National League East, 3 1/2 games behind first place Atlanta. The Nationals are 16-12 and they are in second in the division, 1 1/2 games behind the Braves.
Cliff Lee will get the start for the Phillies in this series opener. He is 3-2 with a 3.29 ERA. Last time out on Saturday, he got a no-decision in Arizona in a game the Phils eventually won, 6-5. Lee allowed five runs (three earned) in six innings of work.
In 11 career starts vs. the Nationals, Lee is 6-4 with a 2.87 ERA.
Washington will counter on the mound with 2-2 right-hander Stephen Strasburg. He has made six career starts against the Phillies, going 2-1 with a 2.65 ERA.
