LCB Clarifies Rules For Home Delivery Of Beer In Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- The Liquor Control Board has issued guidelines for home delivery of beer in Pennsylvania.
The Liquor Control Board in December issued an opinion that made it clear that businesses that have LCB "Restaurant, "Eating Place Malt Beverage" or "Hotel" licenses can acquire a special license that allows for home delivery of beer, and that has sparked a surge in applications for the licenses.
So LCB attorney Rodrigo Diaz says the agency has issued a clarification of rules, chief among them:
"You have to make sure the payment occurs before the beer leaves… in other words, you've got to get the credit card information over the phone."
Diaz says beer deliveries are limited to 192 ounces, or a 12-pack of 16 ounce containers.
Just last week, the LCB issued an opinion that beer distributors can also sell 12 packs packaged by manufacturers that are 12 or 16 ounces.
