UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) -- A Philadelphia School District police officer is dead after a two vehicle accident in Upper Darby Friday night. The second driver is charged with homicide by vehicle.

Authorities say 47-year-old Gregory Hayes was driving his motorcycle to work when he crashed into a pickup truck on Marshall Road around 11:15 Friday night.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says the driver of that truck, 32-year-old Salome Seay of Lansdowne, was drunk and driving recklessly.

"It looks like he pulled right, made the turn right in front of the motorcycle," he says, "and the motorcycle had no chance to stop."

Hayes, a married father of two, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Seay was arrested at the scene. He's now facing a long list of charges.

"He was charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol," Chitwood says, "aggravated assault, reckless and careless driving."

Chitwood says Seay told police he had been drinking margaritas in Philadelphia before the accident.
