With Jason Peters Out, Lane Johnson Stays At Right Tackle

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — With Jason Peters nursing a quad injury, Matt Tobin has replaced the veteran left offensive tackle and Eagles' coach Doug Pederson has opted to keep Lane Johnson on the right side.

Johnson, 26, was asked whether or not he was surprised by that.

"No, not really," Johnson said. "We're trying to get the continuity right on the right side. This is the first year playing next to [right guard] Brandon [Brooks] and we're trying to get that down first. If I have to move to left tackle, I'll be okay with doing the same thing that I did last year.

"I'll just try to focus on right tackle, and try to get some left tackle reps, work on my footwork after practice. I want to keep in my control. It's difficult [switching from right tackle to left tackle]. It puts a lot of stress on you, just because I haven't spent a whole lot of time practicing it and getting used to it."

Johnson said Peters should be fine and that his injury isn't that severe.
