Landline Phone Customers In Montco Reconnected To 911

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Landline phone service has been restored to some customers in Montgomery County.

Verizon crews spent yesterday and last night repairing a severed phone cable in Wayne that cut-off landline phone service to a relatively small number of customers in Montgomery County.

A County spokesman says full service was restored at 5:18 this morning.

A contractor cut the cable around 2 pm yesterday, and while the cable was being repaired, the county advised that landline callers to 911 may experience busy signals -- and if so, to try again or call from a cell phone.

But again, service has been restored.
