Lancaster County Fisherman Reels In State-Record Catfish In Susquehanna River

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) – A Lancaster County fisherman caught a catfish that set a new record in Pennsylvania. Jeff Bonawitz was fishing in the Susquehanna River when he caught the biggest flathead catfish ever recorded in the state.

The massive fish tipped the scale at 50 pounds and 7 ounces.

The catfish was so big, Bonawitz even joked that he thought it was a mermaid.

With his nephew's help, he released the fish back into the river.
