La Salle Falls Apart In 2nd Half, Loses 62-49 To Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Terry Allen scored a career-high 23 points and helped Richmond pull away from La Salle for a 62-49 win on Saturday.

With a one-point Richmond lead midway through the second half, Allen scored eight straight points to spark a 19-5 run that extended the Spiders' lead to 59-44 with 2:19 to play.

Kendall Anthony added 14 points and ShawnDre' Jones had 10 for Richmond (18-9, 8-4 Atlantic 10), which hit 7 of 16 from 3-point range en route to its fourth win in its last five games.

Tyreek Duren led La Salle with 26 points and Jerrell Wright had 10 but the Explorers shot just 32.7 percent from the field. La Salle (12-14, 4-8) has now lost five straight and eight of its last nine.
