KYW Flashback: An Unlikely Partnership Sprouts A Pop-Up Garden

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- As KYW Newsradio entered its 50th year, something new popped up in Philadelphia worth celebrating.

Community Affairs reporter Cherri Gregg reported that a Pop-Up garden sprouted on South Street near Broad on a vacant lot alongside a popular Jamaican eatery. But the partnership that turned an eyesore into a destination was unique.

The head of the Horticultural Society, which is famous for its Philly Flower Show, teamed up with music mogul Kenny Gamble and his wife Fatima, who own the land.

The garden became the backdrop for warm weather nights of relaxation, drinks and jerk chicken - under the stars.
