Opening Statements Begin Thursday In Corruption Trial Of Philadelphia Councilman Kenyatta Johnson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Opening statements are scheduled to begin Thursday in the corruption trial of Philadelphia Councilmember Kenyatta Johnson. Jury selection was completed Wednesday.

Federal prosecutors accuse Johnson, a Democrat, and his wife of taking more than $66,000 in bribes.

Both maintain their innocence.
