Prosecution Rests Case In Federal Bribery Trial Of Philadelphia Councilmember Kenyatta Johnson, Wife Dawn Chavous

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The prosecution rested its case in the federal bribery trial of Philadelphia Councilmember Kenyatta Johnson and his wife Dawn Chavous. Now, it's the defense's turn.

The defense on Wednesday asked the judge to acquit Johnson and Chavous, saying the prosecution failed to prove its case during nearly 10 days of testimony.

The government alleges Johnson and Chavous misused grant funds.

If convicted, they could face up to 40 years in prison.
