WATCH: Atlantic City Police Officer Josh Vadell Returns To Hospital To Thank Staff

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- The staff at Atlanticare Regional Medican Center gave wounded Atlantic City Police Officer Josh Vadell a round of applause Wednesday afternoon.

Video from the Press of Atlantic City shows Vadell returning to the hospital to thank everyone for saving his life.

Atlantic City Officer Shot During Attempted Robbery Making Progress

Police responded to a robbery call Sept. 3 when a gunman shot Vadell in the head.

Vadell's partner returned fire, shooting and killing one of the suspects, identified as 25-year-old Jerome Damon of Camden.

Two other suspects were arrested and charged in connection with the attempted robbery and shooting. Police have identified them as 19-year-old Martell Chisholm of Millville and 28-year-old Demetrius Cross of Bridgeton.

Vadell continues to recover and is improving.
