Jordan Matthews Had Some Choice Words For J.J. Watt

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- NFL Films never seems to disappoint when it comes to unearthing some great quotes during a broadcast. The Eagles were mic'd up last week when they took on the Houston Texans and once again we walked away with a beauty of a sound bite.

Eagles rookie wide receiver Jordan Matthews showed that he isn't afraid to trash talk a veteran player. In fact, he had some choice words for arguably the most dominant player in football today, J.J. Watt.

Watt came up short in an attempt to tackle Darren Sproles and went down to the ground in exhaustion. As he gathered himself to a knee, the mics captured Matthews' words from the sidelines.

"Why you on a knee," Matthews yelled in Watts' direction. "Hey, why you on a knee 99? Why you on a knee? He on a knee."

Whether or not it is smart for Matthews to trash talk one of the league's most feared defenders is up for debate. At least he showed he isn't afraid of anyone and the incident showed that the Eagles strategy of tiring out the opponent is certainly working.
