Jets To Hire Former Eagles Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The New York Jets are set to hire former Eagles defensive coordinator Todd Bowles as their next head coach.

Bowles was the Eagles defensive backs coach for the first half of the disastrous 2012 season, before being promoted to defensive coordinator after Juan Castillo was fired.

Bowles, 51, played eight NFL seasons as a safety after playing college football for Temple University in Philadelphia.  He worked as a defensive backs coach for multiple teams after retiring from the NFL, including the Jets themselves back in 2000.

Last season, Bowles was the defensive coordinator with the Arizona Cardinals who were eliminated in the Wild-Card round of the playoffs by the Carolina Panthers.
