PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- To end a life of winter hibernation, we're going back to school – Ski School.
There's romance, family fun or memorable buddy trips – all in fireplace warmed mountain cottages by night and the rush of skis and snowboards by day. But if you haven't tried it yet, it's time to take a lesson.
As close as Spring Mountain in Montgomery County or a quick trip to the Poconos, puts us on the snow and in a class. The learning curve is shortest for the youngest.
"It was pretty easy," said one young skier. "I picked it up real fast."
Beginners can score the whole winter wonderland in one package – lift tickets, rental equipment and a lesson for $60 weekdays and $75 on weekends at nearby Spring Mountain. A typical Pocono Mountain first day on skis averages $80 to $90. Try it. You'll not only look forward to winter – but glow at the first sign of snow. Imagine that.
