Jason Babin Released
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Jason Babin was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced on Thursday. Babin, who voided his contract to take a new incentive-laden deal in March, was coming off a 7.5 sack season in 2013 with the Jags. The Jaguars hope younger players can step up on the defensive line.
Babin was a first-round selection by the Houston Texans in 2004 and has played with six NFL teams in 10 seasons. Babin played with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009, then re-joined the team in 2011 before being released during a disappointing 2012 campaign, where Babin had only 5.5 sacks through 11 games.
