Jailhouse Witness Testifies, Prosecution Wraps Up Its Case In Bucks County Murder Trial

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) --- The prosecution wraps up its case in the trial of Marcel Johnson, a Bucks County man accused of killing a pregnant woman and her 4-year-old daughter, then lighting their bodies on fire.
The final witness called by the prosecution on the 4th day of testimony was jailhouse snitch George Lewis, an inmate who was working in the Bucks County Prison as what's called a babysitter, assigned to watch a prisoner who might harm himself or others.
Lewis testifies when he got to Johnson's cell, Johnson was crying.
When he asked him what was wrong, he testifies Johnson said, "She made me kill her."
He asked who, and Johnson replied, "Ebony," in reference to Ebony Talley.
Then, Lewis says, Johnson added, "I killed the baby," in reference to 4-year-old R'Mani Rankins.
When he asked why he killed the young girl, Lewis testifies Johnson told him because she was smart and she could identify him.
