1 Injured In Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer On Northeast Extension

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- One person was injured after an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger car on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Monday morning.

The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of the Extension near the Quakertown exit. The accident shut down the southbound lanes of the Extension for approximately 90 minutes.

As a result of the accident, the car overturned and the tractor-trailer jack-knifed.

Authorities say a female in the passenger vehicle was taken to Quakertown Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

All southbound traffic was forced off at Quakertown, until the lanes re-opened shortly before 10 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation.
