Italian Culture The Focus Of Series Of Events In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A series of events to highlight Italian culture and economic opportunities are taking place this month at various venues in Philadelphia.

It's called "Ciao Philadelphia" -- a series of more than 30 events open to the public and organized with the support of culture , academic and artistic institutions of the region.

The Consul General of Italy to Philadelphia is Andrea Canepari:

"The idea is to highlight a different image of Italy also to link Italy not only with culture but also economic opportunities," he explains.

One example of an upcoming event: "Culture, Climate, and Techniques in the Architecture of Renzo Piano (a Salvatori Lecture)."  It takes place at the Center for Italian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania Tuesday at 6 p.m.
