Is NASA Changing Your Astrological Sign?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you're an astrology fan, you may have heard that NASA was changing the Zodiac signs. But there's no need for an identity crisis. Your horoscope will stay the same.

It's a case of astronomy vs. astrology.

"Astrology works in one way and is not considered as science, but is an art and a belief system, whereas astronomy actually is a science based on the physics of the relationships between objects in the sky," said Franklin Institute Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts.

Pitts says the confusion arose when NASA pointed out that the constellations are not in the same position in the sky that they used to be. Also astronomers have long known there is a 13th constellation the sun passes through each year

"Ophiuchus has not been considered part of the Zodiac group by astrologers," he said.

Because astrology only has 12 months and 12 signs.
