Is Jamie Moyer The Next Phillies TV Color Analyst?
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Matt Stairs is not going to be the next Phillies television color analyst.
But he has heard who might be.
"I heard Jamie Moyer is interviewing for [the job]," Stairs told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Thursday. Stairs was being interviewed about his upcoming appearance at Wing Bowl 22, and his appearance at Sugar House Casino after the event.
"I worked with the Red Sox for a year doing NESN, a couple of years ago. That was fun, it was exciting. You know it'a always fun when you get to watch the sports and be an analyst and give your two cents on what you think is going on," Stair said.
The position has been open since the team moved up from Chris Wheeler and Gary "Sarge" Matthews.
Former Phillies Brad Lidge and Mitch Williams are rumored candidates, with Lidge turning the team down.
To add fuel to the Moyer fire, the former Phillies starter was in Philadelphia on Thursday, according to his Twitter account.
