Iron Hill Brewery's New Beer Honors Fallen Wilmington Firefighters

WILMINGTON, DE (CBS) -- A local brewery is set to unveil a new beer to honor two Wilmington firefighters who died in the line of duty last month.

Wilmington's Iron Hill Brewery will release "Last Alarm IPA" on November 1 in memory of Lt. Christopher Leach, 41 and Senior Firefighter Jerry Fickes, 51 who died September 24 fighting a house fire on the 1900 block of Lakeview Road.

The new beverage is described as having a subtle malt profile leading to a burst of citrusy passion fruit with an American hop aroma and flavor.

Fellow firefighters from IAFF Local 1590 helped with the brewing process.

Leach and Fickes, both veterans of the department had a joint memorial service earlier this month. Both men were fathers who left behind children.

Last month's deadly blaze injured four other firefighters. Beatriz Fana-Ruiz has since been charged with setting it.
