Insurance Adjusters Busier Than Ever Thanks To Vicious Ice Storm

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)--Insurance adjusters are working overtime thanks to the recent ice storm.

"Mother Nature had a little hissy fit and we are seeing a lot of crazy stuff out there."

Tony Hoffman is the owner of Ace Public Adjusters.

"The act of God old wives tail is a word that some insurance companies use but most gods wouldn't dump a lot of snow and ice on people."

He says food spoilage in your fridge is covered. Look for the additional living clause in your policy for hotel rooms. And with roof damage, it's important to prevent any further damage.

He says remove trees and limbs and you may want to put a tarp up to prevent water from entering the home.

He adds to make sure you document and take photos of all damaged property.
