Instagram Testing 2 New Features To Fight Bullying

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Instagram is testing out two new features to combat bullying. The first one is a "Comment Warning" which can detect offensive, or "borderline," content as a user is typing, then prompt them to reconsider before they post.

Instagram will be testing a "Restrict" option soon, which will allow users to hide comments from specific users without notifying those users that they've been muted.

Once a user restricts an account, their comments on the user's posts will only be visible to that person. The account owner can choose to make their comments visible to others if you approve the comment.

"We are committed to leading the industry in the fight against online bullying, and we are rethinking the whole experience of Instagram to meet that commitment," Instagram said in a statement.
