Inspiration In Full Bloom At Area Gardens

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - No matter what your yard or neighborhood looks like right now, you can always find something going on, growing and beginning to bloom among the bounty of beautifully-planted places around here.

Greater Philadelphia Gardens is a group of over 30 unique arboretums in our area, from the biggest and best-known to all kinds of smaller, historic, and special gardens you may never have heard of before. And, as April begins, many gardens that shut for the winter are opening their gates again to welcome you back in.

Go to GreaterPhiladelphiaGardens.org to see a list of gardens, and click on the monthly bloom calendar too. It will vary a bit this year since buds are opening a bit later, but it still gives you a good idea of what plants you'll see at each spot.

Some gardens have a fee and others are free, so go visit one or two, to help you blow the winter cobwebs out of your brain and fill your head with fresh ideas of what you might plant this spring.
