Inside The Lions' Locker Room: Eagles, 'A Good Football Team'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Detroit Lions really needed that win.

They entered their Week 5 matchup at home against the Eagles 1-3. Falling to 1-4 would have been disastrous, but thanks to a couple of late Darius Slay takeaways the Lions squeaked out a one-point win over the Birds.

Matthew Stafford and the Lions threw three touchdown passes on their first three drives, racking up 199 yards in the first half. Coming into the game, like Caldwell said, the Eagles had given up zero touchdown passes all season long. However, the Eagles defense allowed just three points and 45 total yards in the second half.

No one was happier than Lions head coach Jim Caldwell, who has been receiving criticism early in the season, praised the Eagles.

"That's a good football team," Caldwell said in his post game speech. "They didn't have any touchdown passes thrown on them all year, we got three."
