68-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured After Collision With Another Cyclist While Riding Bike

ELSMERE, D.E., (CBS) -- A 68-year-old man was left seriously injured after he collided with another bicyclists while he was riding as well in Elsmere on Friday.

The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. According to Elsmere Police, the two bicyclists were traveling in opposite directions on the shoulder of Rt. 2 at Oak Avenue. The two riders then collided into one another.

According to police, the 68-year-old man was unresponsive and required CPR upon arrival of medical personnel. The man was transported to Christiana Hospital where he required emergency surgery.

The investigation is still ongoing.
