Industry Bar: Seafood BLT, $15

By Glen Macnow

Industry Bar
1401 E. Moyamensing Ave, Philadelphia

The upside here is that they use Nueske's crispy slab bacon out of Wisconsin, which is among the best in the USA.  It's low in sodium, so you never get that funny aftertaste that's a problem with some bacon.

The downside is the rest of the sandwich from the Industry – where I've always enjoyed a fine draught beer and inevitably been disappointed in the food. The seafood part of the Seafood BLT apparently changes based on whatever they've got around the kitchen. On this day it was shad, which is the G.J. Kinne of fishes – only to be used in emergency. With a lettuce leaf, slice or two of tomato and the "secret sauce" that always turns out to be Thousand Island dressing, it tasted like nothing more spectacular than a McDonald's Filet o' Fish on a mediocre ciabatta roll.

Score: 49/100
