In Rome, Archbishop Chaput Gives Status Report on Phila. Visit of Pope Francis

ROME, Italy (CBS) -- Philadelphia archbishop Charles Chaput reports over $30 million has been raised of the $45 million needed to pay for the World Meeting of Familes and papal visit planned for Philadelphia in September.
Today, he told international media gathered in Rome that some of that money is paying for scholarships for attendees.
"We're providing a scholarship for every country in Latin America (and) every diocese in Mexico," he said. "In addition to that, we're giving scholarships to the poor dioceses of the United States and Canada."
Chaput reports 12,000 paid registrations to the World Meeting of Families Congress, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and he expects the total to exceed 15,000.
