IKEA Recalls Child's Swing Due To Fall Hazard

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – IKEA says it is urging customers who have the GUNGGUNG children's swing to immediately return it due to a fall hazard that poses a risk of serious injury to children.

Those who have purchased the swing will receive a full refund at any IKEA store.

IKEA says the suspension fittings can break while in use, causing a child to fall from the swing.

So far, there have been four reports, one in Germany, two in Austria and one in Canada, of the suspension fittings breaking. One child fell and suffered a fractured leg. There have been no reported incidents in the United States.

The GUNGGUNG swing was made for indoor and outdoor use for children ages 3-7.
