NJ Husband Charged With Manslaughter In Wife's Shotgun Death

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (AP) — A southern New Jersey man has been charged with reckless manslaughter after authorities say he fatally shot his wife in the head last year.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced the charges against 57-year-old Sergio DeRosa, of Mullica Hill, on Friday.

McClain says an autopsy found that 57-year-old Lynn DeRosa was killed by a shotgun wound to the head on May 26, 2014 at their home. A grand jury returned the manslaughter indictment on Wednesday.

DeRosa was in jail on $150,000 bail and it wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.

The couple owned the Old Bay Restaurant & Bar in Egg Harbor City.

He faces between 5 and 10 years in prison if convicted of the second-degree crime.
