Howie Roseman: "It's Hard Not To Be Excited"
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman joined Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis on 94WIP Afternoons Friday afternoon, as the Eagles opened training camp. Roseman discussed a variety of topics, echoing Philadelphia's excitement for the upcoming Eagles season.
"I've been fortunate to be around town here for the past few weeks of our break, and just see the energy and passion they [the fans] have about this team, our head coach, players on this team," Roseman said. "It's hard not to be excited."
When asked about quarterback Nick Foles, Roseman talked about his work ethic.
"Well, I think when you talk about Nick, he's never satisfied," Roseman explained. "He wants to get better in all facets of the game. Certainly had an outstanding year last year and you see how he's worked in the offseason and how he's primed to get better and do whatever he can to get better. We're really excited to kind of kick it off with Nick this year."
The Eagles added a new offensive toy in the offseason, former New Orleans Saint and dynamic running back, Darren Sproles.
"What a unique guy," Roseman said of Sproles. "I mean, just his leadership, his work ethic. It's something we've all taken note of thus far. His determination as a player and then an extremely talented guy."
As for Lane Johnson and Jake Knott, both suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's performance enhancing substance policy, Roseman expects them to learn from their mistake.
"Obviously we're disappointed with the choices they made and our hope and expectations is they'll learn from it and get themselves ready for the season when they come back," Roseman said. "I think Lane understands that, he's owned it."
