Husband And Wife ID'd In Deadly House Fire In Langhorne

LANGHORNE, Pa. (CBS) - A husband and wife are dead after a house fire in the Langhorne section of Middletown Township, Bucks County.

Officials say it was reported at about 8 p.m. Tuesday along the 300 block of Elmwood Avenue near Perriwinkle. The fire spread quickly through the farmhouse, trapping Raymond and Caroline Jenkins who were said to be in their 60s.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the other died a short time later at St. Mary Medical Center.

The fire began in the basement of the residence and spread from there. There were not any working smoke detectors in the house at the time of the blaze.

The fire is currently under investigation.
