Hot Start Lifts La Salle Past Duquesne, 87-72

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jordan Price knocked down three 3-pointers in the first 3:05 of the game and Cleon Roberts hit two more as La Salle took a 15-2 lead and never looked back, topping Duquesne 87-72 on Wednesday night.

La Salle, which hit six 3s in the first half, took a 16-point lead at halftime.

The Explorers (15-11, 7-6 Atlantic 10) shot 48.4 percent from the field (30 of 62), including 13 of 30 from beyond the arc. La Salle knocked down five of its first six shots from distance to start the game.

Price finished with 19 points to lead La Salle, with Jerrell Wright adding 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Khalid Lewis and Roberts each added 13 points and Steve Zack pulled down 10 rebounds.

Micah Mason finished with 16 points to lead the Dukes (8-16, 3-10). Derrick Colter added 11 points and L.G. Gill added 10.
