Hot And Humid Start To The Week, Followed By A Cool Down

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The air will be hot and humid to start the work week.

Thunderstorms will bubble up during the aftermath and a line of severe storms may form. The main threat will be damaging winds, in excess of 60 miles an hour, and flooding downpours caused by "training" thunderstorms. That is when one thunderstorm after another moves over the same area.

Much like we saw last Thursday in Ocean City, NJ. The high Monday will be 90 degrees.

Tuesday, I expect afternoon showers and thunderstorms as a cold front moves through our area. It will be hot and humid again, the high 88 degrees.

In the wake of the front, it won't necessarily be the "polar" vortex, but a "cooler" vortex that will bring a welcome change.

Wednesday through Friday, highs will be in the lower 80s -- a refreshing end to the week!
