HoneyFest Kicks Off Friday At Wagner

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you're free this Friday, you can kick off the first day of the Philadelphia Honey Festival at the Wagner Free Institute of Science.

If you've never visited the Wagner, you'll feel like you're stepping back in time and wonder why you haven't been there before!

Friday from 10 am to 12 noon, homeschooled children are welcome to learn all about bee pollination, starting with a lesson in the Wagner's historic lecture hall (that looks like a scene straight out of Harry Potter). Then, watch an open bee hive at work as you see in the photo here, and join in scavenger hunts and bee-themed games.

It's free – just register by the end of the day today by sending an email with your name, contact information, and how many children and adults will attend to: reservations@wagnerfreeinstitute.org.

Friday evening from 5 to 7, adults over 21 are welcome to a Honey Happy Hour (it's free, though a donation is welcome) featuring honey-brewed beers and the honey-based liquor called mead.
