Homeless Woman Allegedly Stabbed Man 77 Times Before Setting Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have arrested a homeless woman in connection with the stabbing death of a Mayfair man in September.

Fifty-two-year-old Tina Vanderhorst was arrested and charged with murder, robbery, arson, causing a catastrophe and related crimes.

Police say Vanderhorst and the victim had had an argument before the murder.

Firefighters discovered the body of 64-year-old Robert Lynch inside his home in the 500 block of East Church Lane on September 12th.

The body was in the advanced stages of decomposition, and the medical examiner was called in to determine cause of death.

The ME determined that Lynch had been stabbed 77 times before the fire was set.
