Home Invasion Suspect Handcuffed to Fence After Resident Returns Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—A suspect involved in a South Philly home invasion didn't get to far: he was found handcuffed to a fence.

City police responded around 9:30 p.m. to the 200 block of Ritner Street for a reported home invasion.

During the incident, police say two men entered into the second floor apartment where they pistol whipped a 25-year-old resident.

Police say one of the suspects held the man at gun point while the second suspect looted the apartment.

But the suspects got quite a surprise when an off duty security guard--who lives in the apartment—came home and apprehended one of the men by linking him to a fence.

The second suspect fled the scene on foot with a duffel bag full of stolen items.

The victim didn't sustain any serious injuries during the home invasion.

A second suspect is still being sought at this time.
