2 Men Flee Home Invasion, Double Shooting With Safe That Had $80,000, Diamonds Inside: Police

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a home invasion that led to a double shooting and two men fleeing with a safe holding thousands of dollars and diamonds. The men were wearing masks when they reportedly entered the backdoor of a home on the 9400 block of Torresdale Avenue around 2 Sunday morning.

A 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were in the home with a two-year-old child.

Police: 2 Dead, 1 Extremely Critical Following North Philadelphia Triple Shooting 

Police say the suspects shot the man in the back and the woman in the right leg.

The child was not hurt.

The suspects fled the scene in the victim's pick-up truck with a safe that had $80,000 and diamonds.

Investigators later found the truck on I-95.
