Hollis Thompson Set To Return To Sixers Following Illness

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It has been quite some time since Hollis Thompson has taken the floor for the Sixers. The last time Thompson suited up was December 19th and has since been on the shelf battling an upper respiratory infection.

Thompson is expected to be back on the floor on Tuesday when the Sixers square off against the Atlanta Hawks.

Brett Brown has been pleased with Thompson's progress and has opted to allow him to play for the Sixers immediately as opposed to playing a few games for the Delaware 87ers.

Thompson has missed the Sixers last 11 games and while out lost 20 pounds according to the team. Since he has returned to the practice floor his focus has been on conditioning and eating to get his weight back up to an acceptable number to compete.

Through 25 games, Thompson has averaged 7.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per night. He will also give the Sixers another option to stretch the floor as he is shooting 39% from beyond the arc.
