Holiday Weekend Looks Good With Sunshine, Warm Temperatures

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Since the beginning of the month temperatures have averaged 2 to 3 degrees above normal and that stretch of warm weather will continue for the next few days. Tuesday will be warm with some sunshine but high pressure over the region will sink south allowing a warm front to cross the area by Wednesday. This front could bring a few showers and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon. Then there will be another chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday with the passage of the associated cold front. Once this clears out, Friday through the holiday weekend looks good with sunshine and warm temperatures.

As the summer season unofficially gets underway this weekend, it is important to remember to wear proper sunscreen, understand the rip current risks and only enter the water with proper supervision.
