Elderly woman in critical condition; police investigate hit-and-run in Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An elderly woman is in critical condition after a hit-and-run in Northeast Philadelphia Friday afternoon.

Police said a white Jeep Wrangler with a Pennsylvania tag struck the woman in a Walgreens parking lot on Frankford Ave at around 1:40 p.m., and then left the scene.

The woman was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and the Jeep was later found by police on Delaire Landing Road, part of an apartment complex along State Road.

Police told CBS Philadelphia on Friday that someone is being interviewed in connection to the crash.
