Hillary Clinton Speaks At Conference In Atlantic City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Former Secretary of State and likely Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was in Atlantic City Thursday, speaking to a gathering of area professionals who operate kids summer camps.

Hillary Clinton has been an outspoken advocate for women and children throughout her public life. She thanked members of the New York and New Jersey Tri-State Camp Conference for their work, which she says offers kids the opportunity to expand their horizons.

"Camping really is about life skills, it's about bringing adults and kids together in ways that really build confidence and resilience."

Clinton told the group she believes those attributes are essential for kids who will be future leaders of our country, and she hopes parents will continue to let their kids explore.

"You don't do your child any favors by trying to so cushion that little boy or girl that they don't learn what they themselves are capable of doing."
