Highly Anticipated Rodin Exhibit Set To Open In Bucks County

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - More than four dozen sculptures from artist Auguste Rodin go on display starting Saturday at the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown.
The much-anticipated opening of the Rodin exhibit comes on the heels of the successful Grace Kelly exhibition that drew more than 100,000 to Bucks County. It features bronzes from a private travelling collection that's expected to draw crowds from the mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
Museum director and CEO Lisa Tremper Hanover says this collection complements what people will find at the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia:
"We are showing several of the individual bronzes that comprise the entire 'Gates of Hell' so you'll see the entire 'Gates of Hell' on view at the Rodin Museum. You come to us and you see the individual elements that are incorporated in that."
Hanover says the Michener is one of only six museums to display the works:
"We are honored to be able to focus on very select pieces that really bring Rodin's expressive energy to life."
The exhibition will run through mid-June and is expected to drive as many as 60,000 tourists to Doylestown, with restaurants and businesses expected to see increased business.
