High School In Delco Evacuated After E-Cigarette Malfunctions, Causing Minor Explosion

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Springfield High School in Delaware County was briefly evacuated this afternoon after an e-cigarette malfunctioned causing a minor explosion.

Police were called to the scene because other students feared the explosion was a pipe bomb. But firefighters determined it was just an unfortunate accident.

The student suffered minor burns to his hip and hand.
