Hepatitis A Infections Soar Nearly 300% Among US Adults

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Hepatitis A is making a resurgence among adults in the U.S. Hepatitis A infections have soared nearly 300% in the past few years.

That's according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Hepatitis A is preventable with a vaccine.

The director for the National Center For Immunization and Respiratory Disease says the U.S. has a vaccination schedule that is set up to provide long-term protection against a variety of diseases.
